Up for sale is a US M39 artillery dispensed fragmentation submunition. Dispensed from artillery projectiles like the M444 DPICM projectiles, upon ejection opens the 2 stabilizing vanes on either side & upon impact with the ground the striker plate on the bottom hits a primer, sending the golf-ball sized fragmentation grenade approximately 1-2m into the air before detonating.
The body was recovered from a firing range & then cleaned and repainted. The fins open easily and the striker plate on the bottom slides in and out. Also included is a solid resin replica of the fragmentation ball, cast from a real example, extremely hard to find even as a replica. Sits nicely in the carrier body!
