WWI Nahkampfmesser Combat Trench Knife/boot knife.
The grooved grip plates show light age consistent with wear and use during the period, with a small crack on one side. Both oak halves are tightly riveted to the spine of the hilt, and secure the crossguard firmly in place. An excellent scabbard accompanies this knife. The period black enamel has held up extremely well. Riveted to the upper section is the short leather hanger. It’s all complete, tight to the shell, with the hold down strap that functions fine. Lastly, completing this fight knife is the blade, the blade appears to be in very good condition. An excellent example of a WWI, German fighting knife!
