Selling a nice tanto blade , Mei/signature : Mihara ju Masaie( AD 1532-1554) so around 470 years old....
Very fine little tanto with 23cm edge length and 33cm overall length, weighs around 1 lb, very nicely polished by professional polisher (not your average garage grinder)
scarbbard material is laquered wood, buffalo horn and metal.
Habaki was wrapped with a thick layer of pure gold (see testing machine)

- “Mihara-jū Masai-e” (三原住正家) is a swordsmith (or lineage of swordsmiths) of the Mihara school in Bingo Province (備後国, now part of Hiroshima Prefecture).
- The “Mihara school” (三原派, Mihara-ha) is a group of swordsmiths active from the late Kamakura period through the Muromachi and into the Sengoku era, centered around the Mihara / Bingo region.
