The French 1874 Officer's Model Revolvers were an elegant step above the common 1873 model. They were made for French military use by the St. Etienne Arms Manufacture (MAS) and chambered in the impressive 11mm French Ordnance for single and double action operation but if you don't want the original chambering I can have it converted to shoot .45 ACP/Auto Rim AND .455 Webley without any additional hardware like moon clips or spacers for $350. This was a Navy revolver as proven by the anchor stamp, and could have seen action in all sorts of conflicts up into WW1. Given the extremely well preserved condition it is obvious this revolver sat on the hip of a high ranking individual who cared for it greatly - with significantly lower production numbers of 1874s I wouldn't imagine there are more than a thousand or so remaining in this high of condition.  As a pre-1898 Antique, this can be owned and used without any licensing, registration, or hassle.

This gun is mechanically pristine, with all aspects functioning exactly as intended. The cylinder, ejector, action, and all related mechanisms are great and smooth. The bore is AMAZING with mirror finish still showing original factory cut lines, which means it has probably not seen more than a few dozen rounds through it in its entire life.

The surface is shiny and clean, and the hammer still displays factory straw colouring. All writing is crisp and legible showing matching serials, inspection marks, and the manufacture year 1879. There is minor finish loss on the left side of the barrel and at the tip as pictured likely from time in a holster in salty sea air which can challenge even the most diligent care. The knurling is perfect and checkered grips are also strong with a rich dark grain with occasional dings. Original lanyard ring present.

For $350 extra I can have this milled out from 11mm French to shoot all 3 of .455 Webley and .45 ACP and Auto Rim, which are very accessible to reload for antiques.
