SOLD This is the cleanest and shiniest Webley Mk 2 I've ever had - the visuals speak for themselves, and it comes with an original black leather service holster, which I was told it sat in during service in the Boer Wars when I bought it. While I have no way of confirming this claim, the holster appears correct for the period and is still strong and intact unlike most similar holsters. Time to sell because cash is tight, but I'll be sad to see her go. This revolver is fortunately still chambered in the original .455 Webley round, but conversion to .45 ACP and .45 Auto Rim is always a possibility if that is your preference, although my preference is to preserve the history. The Mk 2 models were made as improvements on the Mk 1 starting in 1895 with modified grips, wider hammers (perfect for cocking while riding a horse!), and different blast shields. As a pre-1898 antique, this requires no PAL, registration, or headaches to own or use.
Webley produced high quality guns, and this is no exception. It shoots reliably in DA and SA with rock steady lockup and mechanics. No wiggle room, and a flawless ejector and top break operation. The cylinder spins very smoothly. Although Mk 1s the original grips are in great shape.
The appearance is excellent, with a polished dusky blued finish which is extremely clean. It has British Navy marks and many proofs and inspector marks including crown/NP on the barrel and cylinders, and lacks the W&S winged bullet logo proving martial service. Serials all match 47xxx. I can get more pics upon request! The bore is sadly very worn from a lack of care relating to black powder use somewhere along the road. The left side is stamped "WEBLEY / MARK II / PATENTS".
