Looking to sell this restored MkII /W MkIII backsight.
Rifle is in really nice condition and was a long term restoration project of mine.
The MkII /W MkIII backsight was introduced to correct issues related to durability of the MkII backsight used on MkI* and MkII* rifles. These were a pretty scarce variant and are rarely seen.
A new fore end was spliced on using the proper dovetail method and epoxied. The joint is well hidden by the mid band and is rock solid. The fore end wood had a defect in it which was repaired with epoxy during the restoration process and is nearly invisible, but disclosed anyway. The sling swivel on the nose cap was added and made to replicate the original. This rifle was restored using original steel parts. The only reproductions are the front handguard and the fore end extension.
The rifle shoots extremely well. First five shot group produced a group of about 1.5”. The rifle also has an LC chamber.
Looking for $1800 on it, now $1600.
