An exceptional example of the legendary Swedish Mauser M96 rifle, manufactured in 1908 by Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori in Eskilstuna, Sweden.
This rifle is in outstanding original condition and is 100% matching across all serialized parts — including the bolt body, bolt shroud, firing pin, extractor, bolt handle, receiver, magazine floor plate, trigger guard, stock metal fittings, sight base, and even the cleaning rod. Each component bears the Swedish crown inspection mark and the matching number “719.”
Chambered in 6.5x55mm Swedish Mauser, this rifle features a bright, sharp bore with strong rifling. The metal retains its original blued finish, and the walnut stock shows a rich oil finish with minor handling marks consistent with careful service storage. The action operates smoothly, and all mechanical functions are excellent.
The Carl Gustaf M96 is celebrated for its superb precision, exceptional machining quality, and the use of high-grade Swedish steel — often considered one of the finest bolt-action service rifles ever produced.
