This is an excellent example of a Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I, factory-renovated under the British FTR (Factory Thorough Repair) program, paired with a complete Indian RFI military sniper scope system based on the No.32 Mk3 pattern. It represents one of the most interesting post-war military sniper configurations used across Commonwealth forces.

Rifle Overview

The rifle is a British-made No.4 Mk I, later overhauled to service standards through an official FTR program. FTR-marked rifles are well-known for their reliability and accuracy, as they were fully disassembled, inspected, and rebuilt to near-new condition for continued military service.

This example retains its clean receiver markings, solid wood furniture, and stable bore with strong rifling. The rifle features a proper sniper-style cheek rest, installed in military pattern, providing a correct eye alignment for the optic.

Sniper Scope System – RFI No.32 Mk3 Pattern

The scope is an Indian-manufactured No.32 Mk3 pattern optic, produced by RFI (Rifle Factory Ishapore). These scopes were created post-war for military sniper use and follow the same mechanical layout as the British No.32 Mk3, including:

  • Elevation and windage drums in classic No.32 style
  • Proper military external finish
  • Standard No.32 tube dimensions
  • Original field service wear consistent with military use

The scope is mounted on a matching RFI sniper mount and pads, designed to replicate the British No.4(T) system. These mounts were produced specifically for military deployment and remain highly collectible as part of India’s long service history with the Lee-Enfield rifle.

Included Accessories

  • Complete No.32-pattern RFI scope
  • RFI sniper mount & bracket
  • Correct leather lens covers
  • Canvas sling
  • Cheek rest fitted to British pattern
  • Military steel scope can (No.8 Mk I type)

Condition

Overall condition is very good. The rifle shows honest service wear while retaining strong structural integrity. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The scope optics are clear, and the adjustment drums move freely. The mount locks up securely with proper alignment.

Collectibility

This setup should not be confused with a WWII British No.4(T) sniper rifle. Instead, it is a post-war Commonwealth military sniper configuration, widely appreciated for its history, functionality, and unique combination of British and Indian production.

These rifles and scope sets have become increasingly scarce on the collector market, especially with complete mounting systems and original military scope tins
