This old Marlin has been used to its fullest extent, the finish is all but gone, but it has been taken care of and sports an absolutely fantastic bore, with strong rifling. Should make a great shooter. The take down feature works flawlessly, unlike the Winchester rifle take down, this is a smart, easy system. Mechanically it functions exactly as it should. The wood appears to be in very nice condition but i do believe it may have been lightly sanded with extra finish added at some point. Overall, this is a very original rifle, in an interesting configuration, that should continue to shoot deer for as long as you take it in the bush. Not sure what else there is to say.
